At the start of the play Romeo falls in love with Juliet instantly after just meeting at the masquerade ball is romeo in love or is it just lust?. In act 1 romeo is distraught about Rosaline not loving him back, but then just that night he meets Juliet and then quickly falls in love with her with just minutes of meeting. lust is what Romeo is feeling not love Romeo has lust towards Juliet's looks but romeo thinks he is in love with juliet. Romeo does not spend enough time to fall in love as he has not even talked to her yet but he is already 'in love' with her looks. Romeo this is not love this is lust as you only get to see her and not actually talk to her. “What lady is that which doth enrich the hand Of yonder knight?” this quote told by romeo is about how he sees a beautiful girl and falls in love with her looks. overall romeo does not love Juliet when he meets her but he is in list with her looks.
